The media bashed George W. Bush for a relatively extravagant wedding for his daughter Jenna, but they seem to be quite excited for the wedding of Chelsea Clinton. This time they don't seem to mind that the Clintons are spending $500,000 on flowers and $3.2 million overall. Sounds like someone has 'windfall profits' that should be confiscated, to use the words of Hillary Clinton.

Press Secretary Robert Gibbs tried to attack Rush Limbaugh yesterday saying that he wanted to abandon GM, while the government saved the day. That's an interesting case to make considering Obama was the one who shut down profitable GM dealers for no reason. Gibbs tried to slam Rush and in the process made a ridiculous gaffe, adding to his long list of classics.

Are all of the decisions by this administration merely a series of wild, unlucky mistakes or is it a power struggle? Is the president trying to stabilize or fundamentally transform America?

Ron Paul sent out the following email today:

Dear Supporter,

Connecticut’s Republican primary is on August 10, right around the corner, and I wanted to make sure you knew about two great candidates that that I have endorsed. Neither guy is a favorite of the Party machine, but both have worked very hard and have a deep commitment to Liberty.

Before it was even put in place, the Arizona immigration law was already working because illegal immigrants were self deporting themselves to avoid prosecution.

It's interesting that the left is largely silent on the blatant power grabs by this administration - such as the latest with the SEC, who are now exempt from Freedom of Information Act requests. Everyone should be up in arms, because no matter who is in control, government and power has proven to be a horrible combination.

Who says the government can't run an auto company? Look at this genius: the all new Chevy Volt. Travels 40 miles on electricity. It can be yours for the low low price of just $41,000 dollars. In a last-ditch effort to prevent the U.S. government’s wars from spreading, Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich joined forces to push for a comprehensive withdrawal of U.S. troops from Pakistan by year’s end. The House voted 372 to 38 against the resolution, but the debate served as yet another example of growing antiwar sentiment in Congress.
