Water wars: Balloon fight record broken at BYU

Provo • Utah’s Brigham Young University has taken one summer tradition to the extreme.
Nearly 4,000 people showed up last week at the Provo school to help break the current world record for biggest water balloon fight. A total of 3,927 participants packed onto BYU’s Richards Building field for the six-minute water war using 120,021 filled balloons.
Head volunteer Todd McOmber says the fight — dubbed the Cougar Cooldown — drew 25 more people and 1,000 more balloons than the University of Kentucky...
